Owner-led boiler engineers across Wimbledon and South London

About Comfort Heating Wimbledon

Comfort Heating Wimbledon is run by David Oliver, a heating engineer with more than twenty years on the tools across Wimbledon, Sutton, and the wider South London area. David grew up in the Sutton and Cheam patch and trained on larger commercial systems through Wimbledon, schools, and small businesses before going out on his own. That mix of domestic and commercial backgrounds is what shapes the way the business runs today.

We are Gas Safe registered and accountable for every gas job that leaves the van. The qualifications are not just badges on a website, they cover real legal duties around safety, certification, and the condition you leave the system in. Customers trust us in their homes and businesses because the work is signed off properly and the engineer who fitted it answers the phone if there is ever a question.

The trade has changed a lot over twenty years. Combi boilers, smart controls, low-NOx flues, modern fault diagnostics, and tighter efficiency standards all now play a part in even the simplest home installation. We keep current on the manufacturer training, invest in the right diagnostic kit, and stay involved with the local supply network so parts are fast when something breaks down.

Whether you are a homeowner planning a boiler swap, a landlord booking the annual gas safety check, or a small business that just needs the heating back on, the approach is the same. Listen first, quote clearly, fit properly, leave it tidy. That is the way we have run since day one and the way we will keep running.

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What areas do you cover?

We cover Wimbledon, Sutton, Cheam, Mitcham, Carshalton, Morden, Worcester Park, Raynes Park, and the surrounding South London and Surrey villages. If you are nearby and unsure, give us a call on 07947 336 802 and we will confirm whether your postcode is on our regular round.

How long have you been trading?

David Oliver has been working on heating and plumbing systems across South London and Surrey for over twenty years, starting in the building trade at fourteen. Comfort Heating Wimbledon is the trading name he runs the business under today, and he attends every job personally.

Are you Gas Safe registered?

Yes. We are Gas Safe registered, which is the UK legal requirement for any work on gas appliances. Each engineer carries a Gas Safe ID card you can ask to see at the door, and we keep our registration current on every category we work in.

What are your working hours?

Standard hours are Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 18:00. We are closed on Sundays and we do not run a 24-hour service, but we do prioritise heating and hot-water emergencies during normal hours where the diary allows.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. Boiler installations and any planned heating work are quoted free with no obligation. Call us on 07947 336 802 or send your details through the quote form and we will come back with a clear written price.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer, debit and credit cards, and cash. Payment is taken on completion for repairs and small jobs. Larger installations are split into a deposit on booking, a stage payment when the job starts, and the balance on commissioning.

How much does a new boiler cost?

Boiler installations sit between £2,500 and £4,500 plus VAT. A straight combi-for-combi swap is usually £2,500 to £3,500 plus VAT. System upgrades, conventional swaps, and homes with poor existing pipework are quoted at the higher end. Every quote is fixed in writing before any work starts.

How long does an installation take?

A like-for-like combi swap normally takes one full working day. A first-time combi conversion or a full system upgrade typically takes two to three days. We confirm the timeline in the written quote so you can plan around the work.

What boiler brands do you install?

We install all the major UK brands including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, and Glow-worm. The right choice depends on the warranty length you want, the size of the property, and your budget. We talk you through the trade-offs as part of the quote.

Do you remove and dispose of the old boiler?

Yes. Removal of the old unit, the cylinder where relevant, and any redundant pipework is included as part of the installation price. Everything is taken away for safe disposal so you do not need to organise a separate collection.

What warranty comes with a new boiler?

All new boilers come with a manufacturer-backed warranty. Length depends on the model and brand, with most landing between five and twelve years on parts and labour. We register the warranty in your name on the day of commissioning.

Do you offer finance on a new installation?

We do not run a finance plan in-house. We keep our pricing competitive and our quotes fixed, and we are happy to stage payments across the install for larger projects. A few customers also use a 0 percent purchase credit card from their own bank for short-term spreading.

How much does a boiler repair cost?

Repairs run from £100 to £500 plus VAT depending on the fault and the part involved. Common faults like a faulty diverter or a leaking pump usually sit at the lower end. We diagnose first, then quote in writing before fitting any new parts.

Can you fix the boiler the same day?

In most cases yes. We carry common spares for Worcester, Vaillant, Baxi, and Ideal in the van. If the fault needs a manufacturer-specific part, we order it the same day and book a return visit as soon as the part lands, which is normally within 24 to 48 hours.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

There is a call-out fee that covers the engineer's time on site for the diagnosis. If you choose to go ahead with the repair, the call-out is rolled into the final repair price. If the repair is uneconomic and you decide not to proceed, only the call-out is charged.

Can you repair every boiler brand?

We work on every major UK brand including Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Glow-worm, Potterton, and Vokera. If your boiler is something rarer, give us a call before booking and we will let you know honestly whether we can support it or whether you are better off with a manufacturer engineer.

Do you offer Landlord Gas Safety Certificates?

Yes. We provide annual Landlord Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) across Wimbledon, Sutton, and the surrounding South London patch. The inspection covers every gas appliance in the property and the certificate is issued on the day of the visit.

How often should I service my boiler?

Manufacturers require an annual service to keep the warranty valid. A yearly check also catches small faults before they become winter break-downs and keeps efficiency where it should be. Autumn is the busiest service window so we recommend booking by September.
